With everything being sky-high, ie gas, food…what have you started or stopped doing to save money?

Friday May 7, 2010

I have ended m netflix membership because we weren’t really watching the movies. I switched grocery stores. I’ve been going to a big chain store since I was a kid. Now I only go there for meat. I go to the super discount place now and pay .45 cents for a can of corn instead of .85 cents for the brand name on sale! I make my own laundry detergent and other cleaning products (saves money & are ‘green’ too). We routinely have ‘poker night’ at my house w/family and friends instead of meeting out somewhere. Cook at home ALOT more-family dinners out only 1x a month now.I live in WI, so I garden seasonally. This year I made my garden bigger and added some herbs, plan on freezing a bunch. I condense ALL trips in the car, we all walk more and I started letting my kids take the city bus ‘cuz it’s cheaper than me carting them around….how ’bout you?

We only eat out about once a month, no cable, buy in bulk, save trips to the store, and we use the grocery store that offers discounts on gas.
