Should I help my seedlings break through the soil?

Hello I have started an indoor herb garden from seeds (Basil, Coriander, Parsley) and my Basil plants are growing really well, the ones around the edges have broken through the soil and have two leaves (still very young and small). However, the soil in the middle has been pushed up, should I lift and overturn this to allow the seedlings underneath it to push up easier, or should I leave it and let them push through on their own? Would pushing the lifted soil down be bad for the seedlings underneath?

I have a 13×13(?) foot plot in a community garden. Can you help me plan what to plant?

I want green peppers, tomatoes..at this point I get lost. It does get full sun. I might also get a 2nd plot.

Are there vegetables that grow better together, and some that cannot be grown with others? Just help with planning a basic garden…no herbs, don’t have the experience. Help?

Can I also plant flowers? I know some are edible, which ones?

Thank you so much..I am quite excited about this.

Oh…this area got hit by tomato blight last year. So far the year has been unnaturally damp. Should I forgo tomatoes altogether?

My dad put pest moss and manure in his garden. Should I? I don’t know the PH, its in a lot where a building was tore down; lots of bits of crumbled brick, etc, in the soil.
Thanks for all the help!

Can I use fake pebbles to assist in drainage for my herbs?

This question sounds idiotic to anyone who already knows how to indoor garden, I know. And a quick Google search didn’t give me any answers.

I know I’m supposed to use pebbles under the soil in my pots to assist with drainage but I don’t have any actual pebbles (I don’t have a yard and I live in a city so no access to rivers or ponds). I do have some of those fake pebbles that I was using to decorate a vase with fake flowers in it. Will those suffice to do the same job as real pebbles?

I never thought I’d have such limited access to rocks.

Are there any herbs, fruits, veggies, or edible flowers i can grow in a pot, bucket, or tray in a shady patio?

Hahhaha i know this is like a really lame way to grow stuff but ive got a shady patio all to myself n i took a trip to Rite Aid today n saw they had veggies & stuff straight comin outta pots so i wondered to myself: Can i buy these or buy some seeds like a sunflower seeds or something & start like a garden in my patio? There is no sun in my patio but im sure i can figure out a way to put them outside or somethin for a few hrs a day to get some sun like in my car or somethin. I would do it inna park or like a secluded spot with more room & soil but i live in a place where EVERYTHING is landscaped & maintained so they would yank anything out right away :(

Has anyone ever tried this? Any ideas or recomendations? haha

I am already familiar with sprouting i know this is a good way to get veggies indoors but i was wondering if planting them in pots inna shady patio would actually work? Are there any specific spices, herbs, veggies, fruits, etc that do not need sun or too much root room?

Thank you!!!!

PS. Any good gardening tips on how to grow stuff also if you are experienced in this would be very much appreciated :)
Awesome :)

What soil should I use for an herb garden?

I am going to grow an herb garden, and I’m not sure what kind of soil I use. I am going to be planting rosemary, thyme, cilantro, sage, dill, and parsley. I don’t know if what I am planting makes a difference on what soil I should either. Also I was thinking about planting some flowers in the same area, and I’m not sure if this will affect the herb garden.

What herbs should I include in a small kitchen garden?

I have the soil prepared, and I’m making my list for the seeds going on sale next week. This is what I have on the list so far:

Basil
Oregano
Thyme
Chives
Dill
Cilantro

Am I overlooking something very common?
Parsely! See? That is why I asked!
