My dad just built me a greenhouse for my 16th birthday because growing an herb garden has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. Unfortunately, we’ve had a lot of rain lately and he hasn’t been able to finish it. I started some of the herbs in pots (I have peppermint, rosemary, and lemongrass) and I could really use some starting tips on growing them, both in a pot and a greenhouse, cutting them, drying them, and if anyone has some recipes or methods for making teas or tinctures that would be great! Any advice would be appreciated

So mainly my questions are which are which and some recommendations for herbs to plant in each. I already have Chives and Lemon Balm planted somewhere else and I’m not planning on putting them in my new garden area.
Perennials (I think) that I have:
rosemary cuttings and sage that I just got from my neighbor, then some catnip which will probably go in a pot because I don’t want it taking over. I also want to get some lavender. There will most likely still be space so I’m looking for other recommendations! Preferably some with a lot of uses, perhaps both culinary and medicinal– I’m interested in both.
Annuals:
A lot… Too many, probably. I have parsley (I know it’s a biennial but I’ll be growing it as an annual) sweet basil, cilantro, dill, chamomile, and echinacea. I think those are all annuals, correct me if I’m wrong. Other than those, any recommendations for others? Like I said, both medicinal and culinary are fine
I’m also wondering which if any, can be grown in pots because I may just do that with the annuals instead of have an extra herb garden for them.

I have sinus headaches every day lately. It’s pain and pressure. There is not much congestion with it. Neti pots don’t help because I’m able to breathe through my nose. The pain and pressure are the worst!
I’d appreciate any suggestions of natural supplements or herbs. Thanks!

I am planting a vegetable and herb garden. When I’m transplanting them from their little seed starter pots, I’ve heard that I should break up the root ball, but then I’m afraid the dirt will crush the exposed roots when I cover them. Also, how big should the hole in the ground be?
Also, I planted a grape vine, and the instructions said to soak the roots overnight before planting, so I did that, but then the roots were completely exposed. I poured the dirt on the roots when planting as gently as possible, but I’m still worried that the dirt could crush them. Does anyone know the best way to transplant seedlings?

I’m apparently going to be staying in my apartment for another year and I want to have a "Garden" at my own home this year.
My neighbor is a jacka*s and so I can’t actually dig and have a garden in the ground.
Pots are really expensive and I don’t want to use 5 gallon buckets because they look bad so I was thinking about getting large diameter PVC/CPVC Pipes cut at different heights then blocking the bottom with some kind of plastic netting so that the soil doesn’t run out the bottom with the rain, and then planting pepper plants, herbs, etc. in them.
I think that the white of the pipes will look like Modern Art along the back fence.
The base would allow for proper drainage for the soil, would keep the heat in from the sun, but I’m wondering how much room would, say, a cherry tomato plant need?
I was thinking that I could do the tall pipes for the big plants and then a 2nd row of much smaller diameter pipes in front of those for small plants like herbs and strawberries.
What do you think?

I am very new to gardening, I live in San Diego (zone 10) and am gardening with my 3yr old son!
He planted some carrot seeds in random pots a while back and they are growing so well that we decided to give them a better home. I have some herbs in pots and a tomato plant. So we just built a very nice raised planter bed. So far it only has a bit of soil from our garden in. I have some compost that I am going to put near the top, it is 2′ high and is about a quarter full of dirt right now. So, first question, what kind of dirt should I put in it to get the level up a bit, then can I amend that soil with my compost or do I need to put in the same stuff though out? Second question, once soil is in can I then re-plant my sons carrots? can I put then at the front and the tomato plant at the back? and what seeds would you recommend we plant? Thanks in advance
