Lots of drugs claim to improve mood in the same way alcohol does for me, but I haven’t come across any that do without putting me to sleep before bedtime or taking away my ability to drive. Maybe I’m just not getting fresh, potent enough stuff. I’ve tried gotu kola, ashwaganda, kava kava, bacopa monnieri (all tablets ordered online), not St. John’s Wort yet; I’ve tried effexor XR, lexapro, zoloft, celexia, though all they do is give me stomach aches, panic attacks or insomnia. The best remedy so far is alcohol — or maybe something like kava if I’d buy potent roots instead of capsules. Is there anything else? I know some clarity and normalcy for me is close, because a few few drinks brings it about …
What plants do you know about? I’ve half perused erowid, etc, but I don’t want to waste too much money I don’t have experimenting with capsules or otherwise (legal) hallucinagens. I read about blood tests that sctually test for what neurotransmitters may be off balance, but they’re expensive, about 300 dollars. I’ve tried meditation, read about others things, but I could use a catalyst, a boost, before I can try to afford some of them, or try them…
If you know something I don’t … please, give a word.
Pot doesn’t help, unless I pay like 30 gram. Legal engineered pot might help … but that’s not an option obviously.

Hello,
right now i have a little herb garden growing in my bedroom. i have a pot with basil and parsley that’s still young and hasn’t grown much on my windowsill. Then i have 2 basil plants (Italian and sweet), 1 thyme, 1 chives, and 1 arugala plant on a raised shelf on my brother and I’s desk. They are in pots and i have a incandescent light bulb that gives them there heat and light i have a 60 watt bulb in there. I’m also thinking of adding a parsley plants or cilantro plant too. I just put in another light bulb on the opposite side to put out a little more light is this overkill? Also is flourecent or incandecent better for growth and i tried to plant them outdoors but after hours of preperation and digging and getting rid of all the grass and most of the weeds i ran into a rather large obstruction. It’s like a big big big root or rock or something so yah. Is my light sufficient to keep them happy and healthy because they all like hot full sun or partial shade.
Thanks for the help
It’s about 3 feet from a window and my mom said that it’s probably getting plenty of light idk though?

I am a beginning cook (yes at my age!) wondering if anyone of our seniors have a list of must have herbs. I already have lots of spearmint, but was wondering what some are that a cook should not be without? Answers and opinions appreciated
Spike! Does your human know you suggested pot? You could get him in trouble if the feds check out this question! My dog wants to know if we can grow Beggin Strips

I’ve just been really paranoid lately and i don’t know how to cope with it… I’m very perceptive, have an overactive imagination and i’m constantly preparing for the worst things to happen in any situation… I constantly have these negative thoughts like that my gf is going to get into a car crash on the way home because she was tired when she left my house, i’m going to get a fine if i’m smoking too close to the building, or i’m going to bounce another check, etc. Stupid stuff that’s probably not going to happen.
How can i get over this paranoia? Are there any herbs out there that could help me to chill out a lil bit (not pot)? Btw, i’m making minimum wage, and not on health insurance anymore so don’t tell me to seek professional help… i can’t afford it… I just want some things i can try so i can assess whether they work for me or not (whether it’s herbs for anxiety or methods for coping with it)
that was helpful…
Yea… it might be anxiety, but isn’t paranoia just a heightened yet more specific form of anxiety? i think so anyways… but thanx, you’re input was helpful… and i’m right with you when it comes to writing congress about stuff like that. I don’t think it should be free, i think that it should be affordable but that’s a debate for another topic… thanx so much for the input you two

i bought some already grown basil from the supermarket about two weeks ago. i transplanted them last week to a larger rectangle shaped pot for the balcony. in this pot i have two basil plants a thyme and rosemary plant.. i’m considering removing the thyme and rosemary and giving them their own separate pots.
can anyone tell me why on earth my basil is all droopy and floppy? it gets direct sunlight everyday and i water them frequently. i have also used bio/organic soil and the plants were organic to begin with.. can anyone tell me where i’m going wrong, or is this normal (like, are the plants in a kind of shock?)?
cheers for any advice you can give me!
