Smoking green tea and other herbs facts and advice?

Hey everyone. I have read lots of articles on the web regarding the nutrients of green tea and basil. They are both extremely good remedies for colds and other things. However, I have seen lots of articles on another way of getting nutrients from tea…smoking it. Can you actually still get nutrients from green tea by smoking it? Does it have a buzz affect or is it just a placebo? Basil smoking isn’t as well known as green tea smoking, but can you get nutrients from smoking basil as well? Can it give you a buzz or high or, again, is it just placebo? Also, are there any major health risks related to smoking these plants that are significant of those related to tobbaco or cannabis? Thanks a ton

Chemical extraction from plants?

Is there a way to extract chemicals, etc. From plants/herbs or parts of plants/herbs. Is there a semi-general way or specific for each individual chemical/plant?

Any articles or stuff along that line would be appreciated.
Yeah. Im asking because all the articles ive come across are about taking Lysergic Acid from Morning Glories and THC from marijuana.

And I dont need to know that stuff.
T__T
Or is just something you learn in universities and you need expensive labs for?

Using Coconut Lined Wire Planter for Herb Garden: Questions…?

I am planning to start a small herb garden in a window box style hanging wire planter that is lined with coconut husk. I live upstairs and have adequate access to light but not ground dirt, so this is my only real option for planting herbs. I want to grow parsley, thyme and possibly rosemary since I use these often. Here are my questions:
1.) Should I keep the plants in little pots and just line the planter with the little pots or can I fill the planter with potting soil and plant the herbs in the soil, allowing them to root? (this is what I’d prefer to do.)
2.) If I do plant the herbs in soil, is there a particular method I should use in lining this wire basket?
The planter is quite large, approx. 3 ft. long and 10 inches deep so I feel like this should be adequate for three plants to grow. Any advice would be appreciated, as I’m planning on hanging and setting this up over the next few days.

Buying basic herb plants in New York City?

I’m interested in starting an herb garden in my Harlem apartment, but I don’t know where in the city to go for gardening supplies and plants. All the massive gardens are in lower Manhattan, but if I just want simple things like mint or basil, is there a more convenient location?

Can you make Smokable "Rocks" from extracted plant material?

I know you can make crack rocks from boiling water with cocaine, baking soda, and ice. I want to know if it’s possible to make rocks from something other than cocaine, like herbs or plants extracts in place of water, and minus the cocaine ( obviously ) or if there’s any other way to make rocks from plants or herbs that you can smoke?

I’m talking about legal herbs or flowers, not pot.
