I just got a bearded dragon yesterday, he turned 1 in the spring. The previous owner was freaked out by the crickets and the worms so she only fed him the dragon food. He eats the bugs like he’s starving at every feeding and I worry about over feeding or impacting him. I know that it will take him some time to become acclimated to his new home; but I am worried about over feeding. He has eaten almost 2 dozen crickets in less than 12 hours and about 6 meal worms. Poor thing is skinny in comparison with the pics I’ve seen on the net of other year old dragons. Am I feeding him too much and are herbs from my herb garden, basil, thyme, sage, chives acceptable for leafy greens for him? i am also feeding him the dragon food, though he doesn’t seem to have an interest in it at all. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!! I really want him to be a healthy happy dragon!!

I want to start a herb garden and was thinking that it would make sense for herbs to require rotation with other crops so the soil retains a balance of nutrients. But I’ve never heard of anyone doing that. Herb gardens tend to stay for years.
Does the quality of herbs go down after a few years because the soil is over-used?
I’ve never heard of that, have you?

I have a 8ft x 10ft stretch of land in my back garden. It’s walled, i’d say the walls are maybe shin level and the base and walls are made of concrete. I’m thinking of filling the bottom of it with gravel for drainage, and then filling the rest of it with soil to start my own herb garden. I’ve never even tried gardening before (until recently, i’ve never lived anywhere with more than a windowsill plantpot). Does anyone have some general tips for me on what soil to use generally for herbs, how to keep out pests, and anything else i should be aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated, i feel like i’m already getting the "gardening bug" and i’m only in the planning stage
