What types of herbs and spices should I have in my kitchen? Lately I’ve been learning to cook and have been getting better, now it’s time to expand my spices so I can cook more recipes.
Right now I currently have the following spices and herbs; salt, pepper, Italian season, oregano, cumin, parsley, cilantro, paprika, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, seasoning salt, red chili powder, red pepper flakes, garlic powder.
I like Italian, Mexican, Chinese and anything similar. I don’t eat fish. Please give a little detail on what each spice is used for and the taste because I’m unfamiliar in how it should be used. Thank you all so much!
We just moved into a new house. I always wanted one at the old house we had but it was a fixer upper and we were just way to busy with other projects to have the time to do a garden. With that being said we finally bought a house that isn’t a fixer upper and I can put a garden in!
I know where were going to put it. The place has a lot of sun and I heard it was the perfect place to put a garden.
We want to plant..
Tomatoes
Garlic
Zuccini
Cucumber
Peppers
I’m not sure what else yet. Maybe onions if you can plant them?
and I would like to do my own little herb garden as well but I guess that can be put into another question at a later time.
So my favorite dish at olive garden is their garlic herb chicken con broccoli. I REALLY want to find a sauce that is somewhat similar to whats in that. I personally do not like alfredo sauce, I know everyone thinks I’m crazy, but I don’t. Does anyone have a good recipe for a white sauce that is similar to the garlic herb sauce at olive garden…? It doesn’t have to be the same or anything, just similar and a white sauce that doesn’t taste like alfredo.
Garlic and mushrooms are well known natural antibiotics. What are some others?
I really don’t like taking prescription medication, so along with diet and exercise, is there any type of natural herbs or supplements I can take to help lower my blood pressure? I believe in organic/holistic medicine…anything like certain herbs like garlic, cinnamon, or any kind of vitamin supplements or anything?
