Dog with skin issues?

Hello, my foster dog came to me a few weeks ago & he has been itching up a storm. He was dx with dermititis from his previous vet & prescribed anti-biotics & another med I believe to be a steriod (label was wrecked when I got it). I do not believe in using medicines (drugs) unless it is absolutely necessary. Scooby was on a poor diet for most of his life, he is 6, but for the last month or so he has been on Canidae. I give him fresh herbs, supplements, Omega 3’s, garlic, DMG, Organic apple cider vinegar, home prepared food, yogurt, cottage cheese, 2 homeopathic pearls, & I use flower essenses for skin & allergies. I don’t know if there is anything else I may have missed. He is on Frontline (applied before he arrived), & he came in itching so it is not something just here. It could be his horrile diet of 6 years of Kibbles & Bits. thank you for reading & any suggestions.

How difficult is it to keep a small herb garden?

I cook a lot and use a lot of fresh herbs, but they’re so expensive! So I was thinking of growing a small herb garden of mint, thyme, Rosemary and maybe a few others… Problem is, every time I try to grow anything it dies. I have like, a black thumb or something! So, I was wondering what the difficulty level is for a small herb garden like this, if it would be better to grow indoors or out (I live in Bakersfield, Ca, so it’s hot summers and very cold winters), and just any general tips someone more experienced than me thanks!

Do any of these things cure dizziness?

Advice on maintaining a herb garden?

So, I started a little herb garden about three or four months ago, mainly as a little project for my toddlers to participate in and never really believed that it would go anywhere, well i just came back after a month vacation and everything looks amazing! But I do have a few question, I planted three different basils and they are almost waist high, do I have to cut them or can I leave them growing at leisure? I prefer fresh herbs in my cooking, so drying them is not ideal. (though I would if the alternative is worse).

Also, my peppermint is growing a bit wild, several thick stems have sprouted, stayed close to the ground and surfaced all over the little garden, Should I cut these runaways?

The sage is a little crazy too, big and bushy but kind of all over the place…

Last question, I swear, I also planted some lemongrass and some scallions (spring onion?), I know these aren’t exactly herbs, so is that going to pose a problem? The lemongrass seems to be thriving, but the scallions look a bit wilted (let’s be honest, very wilted, all of the 3 separate scallions I planted are either bent in half, or completely laying on the ground)

I know it’s a million questions, any help is appreciated!!!!
I actually live in Londrina, Brazil. It is very hot here and rather dry, although quite a bit of rain in the summer months, the winters are mild here, think Florida, only a couple of weeks in the high 30’s low 40’s range. The soil is considered some of the best in Brazil, very rich with a distinct deep red hue, I am not actually from here, just moved really, but so I’ve heard.

Hey, my mom planted a whole bunch of herbs and spices in our garden this year, so now we’ve got them coming out our ears, and we don’t know what to do with them. I’ve used a few in some little recipes, and made some peppermint tea, but that’s about it and I don’t drink tea very often. Does anyone know of a good website that has recipes for pasta and other dishes that want fresh herbs? Also does anyone know of a website with good instructions for drying and preserving them?

mild green pepper,tender sweet carrots and yukon gold potatoes. corn, onion also fresh herbs. what can we make with these? i plan on using chicken breast (bonless skinless) w. montreal seasoning. thanks in advance

Do you know a good sauce for steamed crab besides lemon butter?

I want to have a (messy) romantic dinner.
Will buy fresh dungeness crab- but I’m a little sick of the typical lobster/crab dipping of lemon butter.

PS- I don’t want to use fish sauce, vinegar or soy sauce.
Anyone know of any other type sauce/dip?

My herbs are wilting and dying!?

I have just spent a fortune buying fresh herbs from the garden centre, I have only had them 2 days and the mint and parsley are wilted and look like they are going to die! I haven’t done anything to them just put them on the balcony, just a little water and they are in the sun/shade. the garden centre is across the road so the climate is just the same. (I haven’t asked at the garden centre as I dont speak the language!)
