Has Mother's Milk herbal tea worked for anyone? Which is better this or Fenugreek ?

Tuesday Aug 17, 2010

I would like to know if anyone has taken Mother’s Milk herbal tea and got good results ie milk supply increase. Is this tea better than Fenugreek? Has anyone tried Fenugreek and switched to Mother’s milk and saw results? Any side effects from Mother’s Milk tea? Please let me know. Many thanks

I used fenugreek and it did work great. It did increase my milk supply. ex, what I would pump in a week I would pump in 2 days. The only side effect was that when I sweat I smelled like syrup and my baby’s poop smelled like syrup ( which I didn’t see why that would be a side effect ) :-)

I personally haven’t tried the tea (I can’t stand black licorice!!), but I attend a breastfeeding support group, and several of the mothers there take the tea and swear by it. One of the women was saying she takes both, and ran out of the tea and still took the fenugreek, and noticed an immediate decrease in the amount of milk she was able to pump.

Mothers Milk worked great for my friend. I medically couldn’t breast feed.

just a thought...:

I think Fenugreek seed is better. I was using both for awhile and definitely saw results. The only side effect I had was smelling bad (your sweat starts to smell like fenugreek after a while).
By the way, fenugreek is much cheaper — you need to drink the tea like 3-5 times per day, and each box of tea is about $5, so that adds up quick.
