christians:was the creations in literal days or …?

Sunday Jul 25, 2010

I understand clearly now that earth(this rock were on) was here dancing in space before God decided to use for His new creations.
I just don’t think that God created every thing in a literal days..,
you see, in day1: light be; light was–now we have a huge light and its called DAY…SUN..,eh?
the creation of the SUN took up the whole day to be created. or was it Gods day, God’s time..??
THE SECOND DAY:
GOD created the sky, it took another one whole day to create the sky.., was it man’s time or God’s time..?
now, THE THIRD DAY:
God created the herbs yielding seeds and the trees that bears fruits after it kind with seeds in it….was it man time or was it God’s time..?
God has not caused the trees and herbs to GROW, for He has not caused it to rain yet upon the earth. But..?? there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground…
think…? how long it takes for a tree to grow to its fullest before it gives fruit..?? I understand that it don’t take years for herbs to harvest for food, but the question there is that God has to let them trees grow to its fullest and gives its fruits before He form Adam out of the ground…remember, this is only the third day…,was it really a literal days or God’s time..? third day of creation God created Adam and place him in the middle of the garden….think..? please think hard and think deep…was this man’s time or God’s time..??
God saw that Adam was all alone and no help mate for Adam, so..,God form out all kinds of cattle, fowls, every creeping thing and every fish of the seas….after their kinds, and God brought all them creatures to Adam so Adam can see what he may call them….you see, no one was found to be a help mate for Adam so God caused Adam to fall asleep real deep and He took one rib out of Adam’s side and form a woman out of a man’s rib. Now this is the sixth day creation,(Eve now is found comparable for Adam)…was this man’s time or God’s time…?

MAN"S TIME… IS VERY LIMITED..I find it very impossible to be so….

GOD"S TIME…YES, I BELIEVED IT TO BE POSSIBLE
@6666: if you cant simply make one understand..,i suggest that you step off the christianity world and go live in north korea for all i care…it suit you to be a communist…!!
yes.., I understand fully that 1day for us is a thousnd years for God’s time, but I do not think that it takes 24hours for the creations…it doesn’t take 24hours for a tree to grow to its fullest. it takes years in mans time to grow a tree to its fullest in order to bear fruits and then another months for the fruits to be enjoyed in our belly… :) ))

I agree they are not twenty four hour periods as we know them.

However, you seem to have the same problem we all have on first inspection of the scriptures. We all tend to think it is telling us that "This happened, and ONLY this happened." For one thing, He did not say, "I create light." He said, "Let there be light." Almost all of us just assume that means He was making light right then and there. However, if we realize that the earth was most probably covered with a very thick mist that light cannot penetrate, and since the Bible tells us God was hovering just over the water, from His perspective He very probably was just having the mist cleared, so the light of the sun could penetrate.

Then much of what happens afterward in the heavens, is not actual creation, but mere, "setting" things in new places.

The Bible says that one day is with God as a thousand years.

Creation days probably fall into that time frame.

They were likely one thousand years long.

Gen 1:7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

I have no idea what was intended, I only know what I keep envisioning … God sitting the author down (presumably it was Moses) and sliding in a DVD. "Now look here, Moses, this is how it went…"

When the writer of Genesis mentions that God made the universe in 7 days, he means it the number 7 in Hebrew tradition which means ‘complete". So he implies it was God who made it all complete. It doesn’t mean 7 x 24 hours.

The Bible is again a book of faith, not science.

Which ever you interpreted the bible, literally or not,you can not help but still find absurdities.
Some people take 1,000 years or whatever equivalent for the bible 1 day, ok, it sound good but then, subsequently, when god had to take rest on the seventh day ie.god need to rest for the next 1,000 years, the argument just fell out without any apology.

But as noted in the past, Christianity was never lack of semantic jugglers.Just imagine how difficult a feat it was to juggle 3 distinct persons into one of the same, as in the case of trinity but they simply did it.
