Can you identify this plant I grew in my herb garden?

Sunday Sep 5, 2010

I planted seeds in a box late last spring and where I thought I put tarragon this came up. It never smelled or tasted like anything, or looked like anything I expected to grow.
Ive just let it do its thing to see what it would do, now its at least 8 feet tall.

what is this?

Im thinking about letting it grow until december and using it for a christmas tree.

It might be Asparagus Fern although I’m not sure if it grows to 8′. Take your photo and perhaps a sample to the nearest garden nursery, someone there should know what it is.

Just a common weed…wil produce yellow flowers that readily reseed.

Whatever it may be, it certainly has a very graceful appearance. I’d do the same thing if it was my garden, too. A weed is just a plant that’s in the wrong place, and you have decided you like that plant where it is.

I cannot tell what kind of plant/weed that is but your idea of waiting til December? Aw, that would be like having the little christmas tree like from Charlie Brown. Cute :)
